Focused Fire Chat, a Destiny Lore Podcast

Episode 39 brings Blue, Justin, and Willy together to discuss the lore surrounding the raid from the Dark Below expansion of Destiny, Crota's End. The chat was pretty busy this past week breaking down the mechanics and explaining how the aspects made sense within the lore of the game, so the team dives right into that breakdown - while also establishing that the view of Titans as glorified Grumpy Cats was a completely and utterly factual perception (much to the dismay of one of the team). Enjoy the jokes and watch out for the Paean theory at the end - it's a doozy!

Episode 38 brings Blue, Justin, Willy, and guest co-hosts Demigod and Unisys together to discuss this previous week's chat discussion over the lore surrounding Guardian weapons within Destiny - something that is a difficult task to do (the chat generally focused more on the nuanced differences between the weapon foundries and some particular weapons - so we followed their discussion as best as possible within the time allowed). There are a number of humorous points throughout the episode (be sure to stay after the closing tunes this time for a special treat) - but the group does manage to hit on the basic differences between the weapons, as well as put forth the offer for anyone to send in feedback to be delved into more depth within Unisys' Destiny Item Lore series (see email link below to send us requests on that!). 

Episode 37 brings Blue, Justin, and Willy back together to chat about the information that is available on the mysterious subject of Death and Resurrection within the Destiny universe. With something so central to the game world, there is surprisingly little information on the nature of death and the subsequent resurrection of Guardians (and some other creatures). Join us as we discuss the Sunsinger sub-class, laugh at the frustration that the Cabal express at the Guardian's refusal to lie down and die, and the information that Thanatonauts are searching for beyond the veil of death itself.

Episode 36 brings Blue, Justin, and Willy together once again to discuss what information we have at our fingertips concerning the rise of the characters that we know as Guardians within the world of Destiny - those paracausal powerhouses who defend the Last City against the encroaching Darkness. Picking up the tale from the ashes of the Collapse, with the birth of Ghosts and their mission to find new weapons for the Traveler's Light to find a home within, the team discusses the nature of the Light within the Guardians we experience today and compare that refined manipulation to the brutally primal forces of nature that were the Risen. The first few groups of Guardians are examined, as well as a lengthy discussion on the psychological tendencies which set the Guardians apart from the Risen follows, making for an interesting delve into the history of a topic that we can all agree that we want to know more about.

Episode 35 brings Blue, Justin, Willy, and the Sultry Tiger himself, My Name is Byf, together to chat about the lore about the enemy 'race' known as the Taken. Diving into the basic differences of the various forms of the creatures that we, as Guardians within Destiny experience, the group quickly jump from a mere physical description of the enemy (like why do the Taken always 'shiver') into the deeper aspects of the psyche of the overall experience of what it means to be a member of the Taken. With a good dosage of humor (blame the week off), the chat walks through the implications of some of the powers that the Taken have, as well as some of the interesting differences that they have when compared to their non-Taken form. 

Episode 34 brings Blue, Justin, Willy, and guest co-host BlackWolf619 together to chat about the stories of the Major Battles of the Last City - ranging from the early battle of Six Fronts to a look at the Great Disaster upon the Moon. The group discusses a range of topics, from what they think the response of Guardians would be if a Fallen Walker actually walked (pro tip included from reddit on how to take those down a bit faster and easier as well) to the nature of the overarching sense of desperation that the City faced in the resulting disaster against Crota and the loss of the first Crota fireteam. There's also a bit of a debate on the nature of Toland's endgame and how Osiris is connected to all this.
